Around Annapurna
One of the world's great walks and an outstanding trekking in Nepal experience.
One
of the classic walks of the world, this trek offers the visitor
a complete cross-section of central Nepal and its wondrous diversity
of culture, topography, and flora & fauna. Starting in the foothills
near Pokhara, we explore the beautiful Marsyangdi & Manang valleys
and then cross the Thorung La pass (5,380m/ 17,650') to the sacred
shrine of Muktinath. From here on we follow the Kali Gandaki along
the world's deepest river gorge back to Pokhara, staying in pleasant
local lodges and savoring their traditional cuisine. We climb the
vantage point of Poon Hill from where it's easy to appreciate the
vast circle around the Annapurna Himal we have nearly completed.
As we trek across diverse ecological zones, the views of the Central
Nepal Himalaya keep changing. One of the highlights of our trek
are the side-trips and detours that add an extra dimension to the
usual route. An incomparable trekking experience not to be missed
by any Nepal enthusiast!

Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu; orientation. Afternoon walking
tour of old Kathmandu.
Day 2 Morning drive (or flight) to Pokhara. Afternoon
at leisure.
Day 3 Pokhara - Rupakot (3,850').
Day 4 Laxmi Bazaar (1,640').
Day 5 Baglungpani (5,310').
Day 6 Bahundanda (4,300').
Day 7 Tal (5,600').
Day 8 Temang Meadow (8,500').
Day 9 Chame (8,900').
Day 10 Pisang (10,800').
Days 11-12 Manang (11,650'); Extra day for acclimatization.
Day 13 Letdar (13,700').
Day 14 Thorung Phedi (14,450').
Day 15 Across Thorung La pass (17,650') to Muktinath
and Jharkot (11,850').
Day 16 Marpha (8,760').
Day 17 Tukuche (8,500').
Day 18 Ghasa (6,700').
Days 19-20 Tatopani (4,000'); Rest day.
Day 21 Ghorepani (9,350').
Day 22 Poon Hill - Deorali (10,100').
