Known as Sagarmatha in Nepal and Chomolungma in Tibet, Mt. Everest, the highest point on the planet, captures our imagination like few other places. Trekking in Nepal's Everest region is very popular and has a lot to offer, from the interesting inhabitants – the Sherpas – and their fascinating Buddhist culture to Himalayan giants including five of the world's ten highest peaks.
From only 20 mi. / 32 km north of Kathmandu, the Langtang National Park stretches 1,710 sq. km. to the Himalayan border with Tibet, and is Nepal’s second largest national park. The glaciated valley of Langtang separates the Langtang Himal of the main Himalayan range from the lesser 16,500'/ 5,000m summits of the Gosainkund Lekh to the south, and offers an excellent alternative Nepal trek.

Monsoon TreksThe trans-Himalayan enclaves of Dolpo, Mustang, and the Manang/ Muktinath valley are ideal Nepal trekking destinations in the Monsoon -- the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himal ranges effectively block the rain from reaching this Tibet-like arid, semi-desert bio tope. Summer is the best time to visit: Nature is at her most resplendent, rural activity is at its peak, and this season also has the greatest concentration of festivals. Classic Nepal Treks
