This
week-long adventure in the Himalayan kingdom takes you exploring
the Paro & Thimpu valleys and beyond to Wangdiphodrang and Punakha.
You experience all the highlights of Bhutan on this comprehensive
tour - the impressive medieval dzongs, the religious culture and
the carefree lifestyle of the Bhutanese, the bustling bazaars, and
the idyllic countryside set against the backdrop of the Eastern
Himalaya.
After exploring the dzongs of the beautiful Paro valley, you take
a scenic drive to the capital, Thimpu. Here you visit the Changangkha
monastery and the Painting School. Fine views of the Eastern Himalaya,
including Bhutan's highest peak Mt. Gangar Punsum (7,520m/ 24,666'),

its dzong standing sentinel to the valley. Before your return, you
visit the old capital of Punakha and the remarkable Punakha Dzong.
Back in Paro, you take a day to hike to the famous Taktsang - Tiger's
Nest - monastery. Legend has it that Guru Padmasambhava, the patron
