you wish to encounter Everest standing on terra firma but without
having to trek right up to Base Camp, this is the trip for you. Everest
Adventure is the shortest trip we recommend if "seeing Everest"
weighs heavily on your first trip to Nepal. You see the highlights of
the Kathmandu valley and trek ten days in Sherpa country underlying the
world's highest mountain.
Your trek begins with the scenic flight to Lukla after you've encountered the shrines and bazaars of Kathmandu. The trek takes you up the beautiful Dudh Kosi valley to Namche Bazaar, the most important town in the region, where you witness the traditional Saturday market. You continue to the beautiful Tengboche monastery, surrounded by Himalayan forests considered sacred and abounding in wildlife. Amidst breathtaking panoramas of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and Ama Dablam, you spend the next few days exploring nearby Sherpa villages - Pangboche, Phortse, Khumjung and Thame - as you make your way back to Namche, and finally to Lukla. The relaxed itinerary allows extra days for acclimatization & exploration. Back in Kathmandu, you visit the fabled town of Bhaktapur, the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, and the Buddhist shrine of Boudhanath stupa before ending your visit to the Himalayan kingdom.

Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu; orientation. Afternoon walking tour of old Kathmandu.
Day 2 Morning tour of Swayambhu and Patan. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 3 Morning flight to Lukla; begin trek.
Days 4-5 Namche Bazaar.
Days 6-7 Thame, Khumjung.
Days 8-9 Tengboche.
Days 10-11 Back to Namche, finish trek at Lukla.
Day 12 Morning flight to Kathmandu. Rest of day at leisure.
Day 13 Morning tour of Thimi & Bhaktapur. Afternoon
at leisure.
Day 14 Morning at leisure. Afternoon tour of Pashupatinath temple and
Boudhanath stupa.
Day 15 Depart for onward destination.
