Everest Endeavor
The classic route to the Everest Base Camp.
Quite
certainly the most popular trek route in the Everest region, this
trek offers an intimate encounter with the highest mountains in
the world and the friendly inhabitants of the region, taking you
to the foot of the world's highest peak. Following the same itinerary
as the Everest Adventure until Tengboche, we continue through Deboche
and Pangboche up the Imja Khola valley, taking the right fork in
the trail to Dingboche. We stay here for a day to acclimatize, optionally
hiking up the Chhukung valley. Continuing north toward the Khumbu
glacier, we climb a ridge overlooking the village of Pheriche and
contour to Tughla, from where a steep climb up a moraine of the
Khumbu Glacier brings us to Lobuche. Based at this hamlet, we hike
and climb Kala Patthar (5,550m), a ridge of the 7,165m Pumori, to
be rewarded with an incredible panorama of the highest peaks on
earth including the summits of Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Makalu.
From Kala Patthar, the highlight and highpoint of the itinerary,
we have the challenging option of trekking on to the Base Camp,
making for a long, hard day. Descending back down to Tughla, we
take the lower trail to Pheriche and we soon meet the trail to Dingboche.
We then retrace our steps back to Tengboche, Namche, and finally
Lukla.

Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu.
Day 2 Morning flight to Lukla (9,300'); trek to Phakding
(8,700').
Days 3-4 Namche Bazaar (11,300'); extra day for acclimatization;
hike to neighboring villages.
Day 5 Thame (12,470').
Day 6 Khumjung (12,440').
Day 7 Tengboche (12,670').
Days 8-9 Dingboche (14,250'); extra day for acclimatization; hike 
up
the Imja Khola valley to Chhukung.
Day 10 Lobuche (16,180').
Day 11 Everest Base Camp (17,390') - Gorakshep (16,930').
Day 12 Kala Patthar (18,188') - Pheriche (13,910').
Day 13 Tengboche.
Day 14 Namche Bazaar.
Day 15 Phakding.
Day 16 Lukla.
Day 17 Fly Lukla - Kathmandu; rest of day at leisure.
Day 18 Depart for onward destination.
